World of Energy Festival of Trees returns Nov. 27
Duke Energy’s World of Energy education center will host its annual Festival of Trees display and voting contest, beginning Nov. 27.
The display will be free and open to the public from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Wednesday through Friday until Jan. 10. It will be closed Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s days.
During the Festival of Trees, attendees may vote on their favorite tree through Jan. 10. The three trees with the most votes will receive $2,500, $1,500 and $1,000 for their selected nonprofit.
Through December, the World of Energy will also collect canned goods to be donated to food banks and feeding programs in Oconee County at the end of the festival. Individuals who donate canned goods will receive a free reusable grocery bag.
