World Rowing Final Olympic Qualification Regatta 2024: How to watch live in Australia
Australian rowers will look to obtain four quotas for Paris 2024 at the World Rowing Final Olympic Qualification Regatta, which starts in Lucerne, Switzerland on Sunday.
There are two quota places available in each Olympic boat class except for the men’s and women’s single sculls, which have a third quota place on offer due to the reallocation of the host country quota places.
The Australian rowing team will compete for quotas in the men’s single sculls, double sculls, quadruple sculls and the women’s lightweight double sculls. Australia has secured quotas in all other events except men’s lightweight doubles sculls.
Jack Cleary and Caleb Antill will lead the Aussie crew in the men’s quadruple sculls (M4x). The duo was part of the bronze medal-winning Australian quad sculls team at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. They will be joined by Campbell Watts and Alexander Rossi. The crew logged a fifth-place finish at this season’s first World Rowing Cup.
Anneka Reardon and Georgia Miansarow will represent Australia In the lightweight women’s double sculls (LW2x). The duo finished fourth at the first World Cup last month.
In the men’s double sculls (M2x), David Bartholot and Marcus Della Marta will team up for the competition. David Bartholot, with Caleb Antil, won the bronze medal at the 2022 World Championship. Marcus Della Marta will be making his senior debut.
Oscar McGuinness will compete in the men’s singles sculls. The 23-year-old reached the A Final in the men’s double sculls (M2X) at the first World Cup last month.
The final Paris 2024 Olympic qualifying event in rowing will see 147 boats across 14 Olympic boat classes compete for 30 quota places.
National Olympic Committees have the exclusive authority for the representation of their respective countries at the Olympic Games, athletes’ participation at the Paris Games depends on their NOC selecting them to represent their delegation at Paris 2024.
