World War II Veteran celebrating 100th birthday recognized by Madera County
MADERA, Calif (FOX 26) — A World War II Veteran in Madera celebrated a huge milestone on Friday.
Madera resident Leeroy Tucker celebrated his 100th birthday at his home in Madera, surrounded by family and friends.
According to Madera County, Tucker served in the 332nd Field Artillery Battalion, 86th Infantry Division in Europe during World War II.
Tucker was later deployed to the Pacific in the first invasion of Japan.

He was later stationed in the Philippines as a Sergeant until the end of the war.
When asked what his secret was for making it to 100, Tucker had a simple response.
Stay out of trouble, said Tucker.
The Madera County Board of Supervisors honored Tucker with a Certificate of Recognition at his home on Friday.
