‘World’s greatest eater’ Joey Chestnut coming to Knoxville Food City

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – Joey Chestnut, who you might recognize from Nathan’s Hot Dog Contest each Independence Day, will be holding a meet and greet at a Knoxville Food City this weekend.

Chestnut is the proud owner of 16 Mustard Belts, naming him the champion of the annual hot dog eating competition. He’s considered one of the greatest competitive eaters in the world, and holds more eating records than any other athlete in history (by a wide margin).

He’s not just in Knoxville for pleasure, though. He’ll also be taking on Knox County Mayor Glenn Jacobs in a bologna eating competition at Dead End BBQ.

Chestnut’s meet and greet is slated for 4 p.m. Friday at 6710 Malone Creek Drive. The bologna competition is set for Saturday at noon.
