Is Premium Economy Worth It?

Airlines are increasingly deploying premium economy seats on the aircraft. Having flown in several business and economy cabins over the years, I have always wondered about the experience of premium economy. I recently witnessed the space to be had on Emirates’ Airbus A380 premium economy and was pleasantly surprised. For those looking for that extra touch of class, I feel it may be worth it. What do you think? Let us know below!

What Was Your 1st Flight?

In this job, I’ve been lucky to travel all across the continents, from North America to Asia. However, my journey in the skies started long ago when I was just three years old, during a trip to Delhi with my family. According to my parents, the aircraft I flew on was an Air India Boeing 747. What was your first flight? Let us know below!

Aer Lingus Adds Airbus A321XLR Flights To Minneapolis—Thoughts?

Aer Lingus has revealed that Dublin to Minneapolis will see the Airbus A321XLR next summer, although others may do so before then—they just haven’t been disclosed yet.

The Irish flag carrier initially launched flights on the 3,246 nautical mile (6,012 km) airport pair in June 2019, running daily on wet-leased Boeing 757-200ERs. The route existed until April 2020 and returned four years ago, this time on the much higher-capacity A330-200—hence only a four times weekly frequency.

The relaunch in 2024 spurred Delta to begin Minneapolis-Dublin in May with a daily summer-only 767-300ER service. It was the first time the market had seen two carriers.

On April 5, 2025, Aer Lingus will again serve Minneapolis daily—but this time with the XLR. This will help it be more competitive with Delta and to capture more of the Minneapolis-Europe market. EI89 will leave the Irish capital at 14:30 and arrive in Minnesota at 17:15 local time (8h 45m). After 90 minutes on the ground, EI88 will depart at

What Is Your Longest Boeing 737 Flight?

On August 2, flydubai (Emirates’s ever-closer partner) began flying to Basel, Switzerland. Given the airport’s intriguing geographic position, it is officially called EuroAirport Basel Mulhouse Freiburg. The brand-new route runs on the Boeing 737 MAX 8 four times weekly, equipped with lie-flat beds. It covers 2,619 nautical miles (4,851 km) each way, although it is ‘only’ the world’s 58th-longest scheduled non-stop 737-operated route in August. What is your longest 737 flight? Let us know!

What Is The Longest Nonstop Flight You’ve Been On?

Modern aircraft have the ability to seamlessly venture on transcontinental and transoceanic adventures across the skies. The longest nonstop flight I’ve been on was a Malaysia Airlines Airbus A350 trip from Kuala Lumpur to London, which took nearly 13 hours to complete. However, I’m sure many of our readers have been on longer flights. Please share your experiences with us below!

What Could Airbus’ New Narrowbody Look Like?

Airbus today shared that it is talking with Rolls-Royce regarding plans for a new narrowbody aircraft for the late 2030s. The manufacturer already has the successful A320 family under its belt and also took on the A220 program from Bombardier in 2018. Julie Kitcher, the chief sustainability officer of Airbus, told Simple Flying at the Farnborough Airshow that her company is looking to continue improving aircraft fuel efficiency. What other changes could we see with this type? Let us know what you think below!
