Wright State Employer Speaker Series features full-time jobs and internships at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base and Wright-Patt Credit Union

Students and alumni can learn about employment and internship opportunities at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base and Wright-Patt Credit Union during Wright State’s Employer Speaker Series.

Wright State University’s 2024 Employer Speaker series is a great way for students and alumni alike to explore career opportunities with local employers that have a close relationship with Wright State.

Wright-Patterson Air Force Base will send recruiters from several departments on the base to recruit Wright State students for both full-time careers and short-term internships on Thursday, Oct. 10, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Student Union Atrium. Learn more.

WPAFB recruiters will be on campus to recruit students and alumni to work in a variety of offices, including base staffing, the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, base contracting, financial services, logistics, cyberspace operations and the National Air and Space Intel Center.

“Working for the base is one of the best jobs you can get,” said Teri Stebbins, the assistant director of career education and success. “It’s one of the best jobs you can get for pay and career benefits.”

During the event, students can speak to recruiters from Wright-Patterson Air Force Base about employment opportunities. The event will begin with a presentation by WPAFB. Following the presentation, students can interact with recruiters from all departments.

Stebbins encourages students of all ages to attend. While not everyone may be ready to seek a full-time employment opportunity, internship opportunities will be available.

“Even if a student isn’t quite ready to move into a full-time job or the workforce, they can test-drive and see if they like a career through an internship,” Stebbins said. “If they like it, they can parlay their internship into a career later.”

On Thursday, Nov. 14, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Student Union Atrium, Wright-Patt Credit Union will offer information on career opportunities and internships in the financial industry. WCPU is headquartered in Beavercreek and has locations throughout southwest and central Ohio.

Representatives from a variety of areas at the credit union will participate in the event. WPCU will share information about its departments, which include accounting, finance, marketing, human resources, retail and analytics.

Stebbins suggests students and alumni who are interested in either full-time opportunities or internships bring copies of their resumes and dress for job interviews.

“I’d love to encourage students to come dressed to impress,” Stebbins said.
