The World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) and Microsoft have jointly released ground-breaking reports highlighting the key role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in shaping the future Travel and Tourism landscape.

The last two reports in the series from WTTC, “Responsible Artificial Intelligence (AI): Overview of AI Risks, Security and Governance” and “Artificial Intelligence (AI): Global Strategies, Policies and Regulations”, represent important milestones in the advancement of innovation and improving customer experiences through AI, VisaGuide.World reports.

Responsible Artificial Intelligence (AI) explores the potential risks associated with AI deployment and offers actionable strategies to create frameworks that support transparency, accountability, and fairness. Key areas of focus include addressing bias and discrimination, as well as ensuring robust human oversight of AI systems.

Meanwhile, in its concluding report, Artificial Intelligence (AI): Global Strategies, Policies and Regulations, WTTC provides a detailed overview of the AI ​​ecosystem, including major countries and international organizations. The report further delves into the different approaches countries take to regulating AI.

27% Cost Savings & Less Food Waste Through AI

Additionally, Julia Simpson revealed that leading hotel groups, including Iberostar, have embraced AI to monitor and curb food waste, delivering a whopping 27 percent cost savings and preventing thousands of kilograms of food from ending up in warehouses.

Managing Director of the Travel, Transport, & Logistics Industry at Microsoft, Julie Shainock, also talked about AI’s growing use in travel. She pointed out how AI improves customer and employee experiences and makes operations more efficient.
