Xbox Game Pass adds this highly-rated creature saving adventure game today

Xbox players can begin collecting the Creatures of Ava achievements today, as the creature-collecting game launches on Xbox Series X|S and PC, taking us on a quest to confront a growing infection plaguing a magical world’s inhabitants. Game Pass subscribers can join in on the fun too, as Creatures of Ava joins Xbox Game Pass, PC Game Pass, and Xbox Cloud Gaming as well, dropping out of our list of upcoming Game Pass games.

Creatures of Ava arrives on Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass today

Creatures of Ava follows a young adventurer, Vic, and a researcher named Tabitha as the pair travel across the enchanting world of Ava to save its creatures from an infection known as the Withering. The creatures are vital to Ava’s ecosystems, and while they were once peaceful, the Withering has caused them to become aggressive. Unlike other creature-collecting games, Creatures of Ava doesn’t see you pitting your collection of critters against those in the wild. Instead, it focuses on empathy and challenges you to step away from the human-centric point of view.

In a recent interview with Inverge Studios, CEO and Creatures of Ava game director Pablo Martínez told us: “We believe that it is always a good time to care about the animals and nature around us. However, despite our best intentions, we sometimes make mistakes, given our human-centric point of view. After noticing that most video games involving animals focus on capturing them, making them fight, or using them for personal gain, we wanted to create a game where the primary motivation for helping animals is empathy. This reflects how it should be in real life — caring for animals out of compassion rather than for selfish purposes.”

Creatures of Ava joins Game Pass today, and subscribers have plenty more to look forward to this month. Microsoft has announced the first batch of Xbox Game Pass games for August, which includes the rumored arrival of Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy.
