Xbox gamers urged to immediately change one setting to claim free store credit

Who wants free Xbox store credit? Well of course you do, however, you might want to change this one setting immediately so that you never miss out.

One of the best ways to claim freebies if you’re an Xbox gamer is its Microsoft Rewards scheme. What it essentially does is reward you with points for doing everyday gamer things that can be redeemed against video games, accessories, competition sweepstakes, store credit and much more.

So if you wanted to bag yourself a big new release such as Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II or extend your Xbox Game Pass subscription, being a member of Microsoft Rewards is a good way to go. All you have to do, once you’ve joined Microsoft Rewards for free is sign in with your Microsoft account in the Rewards hub and you can begin to earn points when playing on Xbox, PC and by visiting the Xbox mobile app.

Reward points can be easily earned by playing games via Xbox Game Pass, buying digital games outright via the Xbox Marketplace or completing objectives via Xbox Game Pass Quests from your console. It’s easy peasy to earn points but what if you forget that you’re earning points and you miss out on free store credit?

Thankfully, Reddit user Affectionate_Row299 has us covered by reminding us that we can change one simple setting to ensure that we never miss out on free Xbox store credit. Members of Microsoft Rewards can choose to activate ‘auto redeem’ when enough points are earned to claim free store credit as detailed via Microsoft.com.

The auto-redeem setting can be activated in the Rewards app of your Xbox console and will remain active until you turn it and you will receive your free credit around the first day of each new month. However, it’s worth keeping in mind that this setting is only currently available in the UK, Germany, France, the US, Canada, Brazil, Mexico and Australia.
