It may seem like a mundane feature, but size adjustments after purchase can make the smart accessory more comfortable than those of the competitors.
What are the Xiaomi Smart Ring’s rumored features?
Its automatic size adjustment feature is perhaps its most interesting feature.
Tech Insider Gadgets 360 cites a patent from the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) website.

The document describes an outer and inner ring that will enable automatic size adjustment. The former resembles a regular smart ring.
On the other hand, the inner ring consists of an elastic material with spring mechanisms. A portion of the inner ring will protrude, letting the device narrow or widen.
Nevertheless, having such a function will provide user convenience not found in similar products.
You can buy one immediately, instead of taking the time to choose one that fits your finger.
It also lets you continue using the ring if your finger size changes due to injuries or other reasons.
Moreover, that feature will allow you to wear it on any finger and share it with another.
Automatic size adjustment can save costs for the Chinese tech manufacturer, allowing it to reduce the Smart Ring’s price.
Tech Advisor also reported the following rumored Xiaomi Smart Ring features:
- Connectivity options like Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, 2G and 5G
- NFC and UWB chips for contactless payments and digital keys for smart home devices
- Numerous proximity, light, acceleration, gyroscope, magnetic and temperature sensors
- A touch-sensitive area, microphone and speaker for voice commands and telecommunication
- Air gesture technology that lets people use the ring without touching it
Note that the patent does not guarantee that the Xiaomi Smart Ring will have these rumored functions on launch.
