You Can Try Overwatch 2’s Groovy New Support Hero For A Limited Time This Weekend

The newest Overwatch hero is playable starting today for a limited time. Juno, a support hero Blizzard began teasing as far back as last year’s BlizzCon, brings a space-age flair to the hero shooter when she joins the roster as part of Season 12 when it launches on August 20. Based on Juno’s reveal trailer, it already looks like she’ll be shaking up the meta and putting her fellow support heroes out of a job.

Juno’s hero trial period will give players a chance to try out her kit starting on July 19 (that’s today) and through July 21. The only game mode that the trial hero will be excluded from is competitive play. If you are worried about not getting a chance to try out Juno for yourself during the weekend, then make sure to play some of the No Limits mode as it will let you choose any character, even if a teammate has already selected them. I don’t think playing with a bunch of Junos running around will give you the best idea of what her impact on the meta will be, but at least you’ll get a feel for her kit.

Juno | New Hero Gameplay Trailer | Overwatch 2

Based on the trailer, it looks like Juno will be an incredibly mobile support character that threatens to make more than one current hero obsolete. Juno’s main attack is a burst fire pistol that heals allies and damages allies, which sounds like a fusion between the functionality of Ana’s rifle and the feel of Mercy’s pistol. When it comes to secondary fire, Juno has homing missiles that also heal or damage other heroes accordingly. She can also glide, hover, and double jump to get around the map as well as dropping down a ring that will increase ally movement. That makes her sound like one of the most mobile characters the game has had to date, and many see elements of Phara, Lucio, and Mercy in her kit. Finally her Ultimate, Orbital Ray, buffs ally damage while also healing.

Overall, the mobilitty, healing, and even dps potential of Juno makes many see her as a possible replacement for characters like Mercy, Lucio, and Kiriko. Support mains curious about Juno’s kit and how it might make your hero of choice a little less appealing may want to try her out for yourselves while her trial is available.
