Welcome to August, Capricorn. While the first part of August is all about reflection and learning, the month ends on a productive bang. During July, there was a full moon in your sign. While it may have brought professional advancement, which you love as much as your sign’s reputation says you do, it could have also been exhausting.

It’s imperative that you add rest to your to-lists. August is an active month; just take a look at how busy the stars are on Sunday, August 4. To start, Mercury begins one of its retrogrades. Slowdowns can be especially annoying for Capricorns, as you become very frustrated when mundane aspects of life, like travel delays, feel out of your control. Also on this date, abundant Venus moves into your 9th House, indicating that you actually might be traveling, or at the very least, zooming around your city for work and social plans. It’s a good idea to download an audiobook or find some way to find enjoyment when you’re stuck waiting in line or in traffic. August 4 also brings a new moon, the lunation associated with fresh starts, in your transformative 8th House. If you make a promise to yourself now to find joy when you’d otherwise be annoyed, it could make the rest of your life so much more fun.

In addition to your recommitment to opting for joy over frustration, you may want to remind yourself that you do eventually reach your goals. This reminder rings true when Juno, the asteroid of commitment, moves into your ambitious 10th House on Friday, August 9. Brief retreats from battle do not equal surrender. As a cardinal sign, you’re a go-getter, but when Mercury retrograde moves into your transformative 8th House on Wednesday, August 14, you may briefly lose this fact to the fog of the communication planet’s backward dance. Give yourself a firm reminder that you’re strong and you’ve survived much worse than a pesky Mercury retrograde.

There’s just one more intense day this month to be aware of. Remember, with the right mindset, these bumps become opportunities to take it easy. On Monday, August 19, the moon lights up with an Aquarius full moon in your abundant 2nd House.
