Your guide to the first-ever Chicago Fashion Week | Choose Chicago

Chicago has long been known as a place of artistic expression, from the ground-breaking public art on our streets to the masterpieces in our museums and galleries. And now, the inaugural Chicago Fashion Week is shining a spotlight on the city’s dynamic fashion and design scene.

Chicago Fashion Week, which runs from Oct. 9 – 20, 2024, brings a diverse array of exciting events that will take place across the city. The week will highlight Chicago as a hub for innovative designers, fashion schools that attract top talent, and world-class shopping.

The schedule includes more than 50 runway shows, exhibits, and educational and social events that celebrate the past, present, and future of Chicago’s evolving fashion scene. All events are open to the public to enjoy. Check out a few highlights of Chicago Fashion Week 2024. 

The Curio Presents “A Celebration of Chicago Style”
Oct. 9, 2024

Kick off Chicago Fashion Week with an epic runway show in one of Chicago’s most iconic venues. The Chicago Cultural Center will host some of the city’s top designers who have dressed everyone from Zendaya and Michelle Obama to Chance the Rapper and Michael Jordan. Tickets include a pre-reception and afterparty.

Asian Fashion Show Chicago

This showcase of Asian fashion features all AAPI designers and models. The event, hosted by Chicago Asian Women Empowerment, includes pre-show networking, a mini market of local vendors, and a post-show mixer and raffle.

Music and fashion come together for an unforgettable evening at Cine City Studios. The event blends the excitement of a fashion show and a live concert, featuring nationally known designers and musicians along with a VIP reception and vendor marketplace.

Modern Vintage Chicago by Randolph Street Market

Shop over 50 unique vintage sellers under one roof at this pop-up event from the renowned Randolph Street Market. Guests can peruse a stunning selection of jewelry, clothing, handbags and accessories, decorative arts, vinyl, and more going back to the 1890s at the Ravenswood Event Center.

Rising Star Awards

The best and the brightest of Chicago’s fashion scene will be honored at the 10th Annual Rising Star Awards. Held at the historic Palmer House, the event highlights Chicagoland fashion brands and their founders. Badgley Mischka will be presented with the Fashion Icon Award.

This runway show will feature both local and internationally recognized designers, followed by an afterparty and pop-up shops. The 5th annual event combines fashion, gastronomy, mixology, and entertainment to celebrate the end of National Hispanic Heritage Month and benefit Pivoting in Heels.

The Chicago History Museum is opening the doors of its latest temporary exhibition, featuring iconic items preserved in the museum’s vast costume collection. Guests can admire 70 rarely seen artifacts spanning more than 100 years of fashion.
