Your Tarot Reading Is Telling You to Put in the Work

You don’t need to know the difference between a three-card and a Celtic cross spread to get the most out of a tarot card reading. All you need: your Sun sign! Here’s what I do: Shuffle my tarot deck and pull out the cards in order from Aries to Pisces, plus one general card for everyone so that you can get specific advice around your personality. Let’s go!

A GENERAL CARD FOR EVERYONE: THE HIEROPHANT

Margie Rischiotto+Rider-Waite

Venus moves into Capricorn (ruled by Saturn) while Saturn turns direct, which brings a hard-working, practical energy to the week ahead. This is a time to find solutions to your problems. Take tangible, pragmatic steps to serve your needs. The Hierophant is also a wise sage. Maybe this is the week to seek out a mentor, read a self-help book, or listen to a spiritual podcast. Wisdom comes from your own experience, as well as absorbing other people’s ideas and lessons. Accelerate towards wise solutions you can put into practice by asking for guidance or advice and reading up on philosophies, schools of thought, and techniques. Be the leader in your own realm.

ARIES: NINE OF CUPS

Manifesting is a technique you would be great at! You overflow with vitality and positive energy, you have enormous reserves of stamina, and you feel deeply and passionately about your goals. Find out more about manifesting (I have a Guided Magic Manifesting Journal on Amazon!) and follow the steps this week to chase down an ambition or dream you long to make reality. The Nine of Cups brings authentic wish-come-true vibes to your realm- so use them!

TAURUS: THREE OF SWORDS

Margie Rischiotto+Rider-Waite

Lately, you’ve been noticing other people’s intentions towards you, and you’ve found some things that require a response. The Three of Swords shows that not everyone has been wholesome, kind, and supportive. You have analyzed their possible intentions and decided that you need to withdraw from a few roles, situations, or people in order to protect your energy. Do it. Don’t make a big scene, just lightly tread backwards and get some space. Let them show you what they’ll do next!

GEMINI: KNIGHT OF CUPS

Margie Rischiotto+Rider-Waite

You’re feeling loved, liked, and respected, and this brings out the best of your optimistic, social nature. The Knight of Cups brings opportunity, invites, parties, travel, and romance to your world, which all adds up to a great week ahead. Enjoy yourself, let your hair down, and celebrate. Be the ultimate Gemini party animal! You’re ready for a week of fun.

CANCER: ACE OF CUPS

Margie Rischiotto+Rider-Waite

A new relationship enters your life this week and sweeps you off your feet! It could be a new lover, friend, baby, pet, or even a long-lost family member you reconnect with. This (re-)birth is joyous, life-affirming, and immediate. It’s love at first sight, whether romantic or platonic. Look for other water signs (Pisces, Cancer, Scorpio) and people who are creative, passionate, artsy, and free-spirited. Look for people whose energy you want to match, and for people who inspire you. Someone new is going to make a huge difference in your life.

LEO: TWO OF PENTACLES

Margie Rischiotto+Rider-Waite

Leo, you always end up biting off more than you chew because you have a genuine lust for life. You want to be involved in whatever is going on and find it hard to turn down an invitation. The Two of Pentacles gives you full permission to say yes to everything this week, because somehow you’ll find a way to do it all! Sometimes, more is more. The more you do, the more you find you can do. One thing will lead to another, and this week, many opportunities will collide and become something bigger than the sum of parts.

VIRGO: FIVE OF CUPS

Margie Rischiotto+Rider/Waite

November can be a melancholy month—it’s cold, darkness, and camp. There is a gloom about this time of year and you’ve been feeling it. Don’t be sad, Virgo. Let your feelings rise and then release them. Let them pass along and fade, ready to be replaced by new emotions. Grieve or cry. Write a letter to someone you miss. Watch a nostalgic movie. Listen to sad songs. Feel your sadness, and then welcome a new mood afterwards. Don’t linger, but don’t try to sweep by too quickly either.

LIBRA: KNIGHT OF PENTACLES

Margie Rischiotto+Rider-Waite

Work hard, play hard, Libra. Get your chores done first and tackle the tasks that need doing before you sit down and chill. The Knight of Pentacles wants your nose to the grindstone and your hands kept busy. There is work to be done, and procrastination will get you nowhere. After you’ve crossed off everything on your to-do list, you can play, rest, relax, and unwind to your heart’s content. But if you accomplish your tasks first, then it won’t feel right because you’ll know that there are things awaiting your urgent attention. Make the first half of this week a task-focused one, and then go enjoy yourself.

SCORPIO: SIX OF WANDS

Margie Rischiotto+Rider/Waite

Play to your strengths, Scorpio. Build on the successes you’ve already achieved. Return to your winning formulas. Get back in touch with those who were impressed by you. Find your winning energy and it will re-ignite and bring you new opportunities that match your current ambitions and serve your unique talents and strengths. Make this your mission this week.

SAGITTARIUS: STRENGTH

strength tarot card

Margie Rischiotto+Rider-Waite

Strength is a reward. This tarot card is like a pat on the back, a round of applause, and a reassuring wink that you’ve got this. Life has tested you in 2024 and you have risen to every challenge. You’ve grown, improved, learned lessons, practiced new behaviors, and elevated yourself from where you were a year ago. The universe sees it and likes it. Now, you can take a pause and just appreciate the journey, the successes, and the learnings. Life will get all the easier because you are so much stronger.

CAPRICORN: KING OF SWORDS

Margie Rischiotto+Rider-Waite

Let your natural (and famous) ruthlessness run this week. It will guide you towards the right thing to do. The King of Swords is cool-headed, pragmatic, clever, and far-sighted. He sees the strategy and the players clearly, and devises tactics to put his own agenda first and win the prize. Be like him. Look far ahead and ascertain your goals. Then, examine the playing field, the competing forces, and the other players. Come up with a game plan that is robust, logical, bold, and—yes—ruthless.

AQUARIUS: KING OF CUPS

king of cups tarot card

Margie Rischiotto+Rider-Waite

One of the things that other people love about you is your honesty. You are an open book when you’re asked a question, even a tough or troublesome one. You can explain difficult things clearly, without bias or deflection. Whatever happens, you say it how it is, and people love that. The King of Cups asks you to bring that energy this week—along with a dose of compassion and care, because it IS a difficult truth that you’re revealing. Help others see reality. Let them absorb it, answer their questions, and don’t judge their reactions. This is your role.

PISCES: TEMPERANCE

temperance tarot card

Margie Rischiotto+Rider-Waite

Temperance is about balance and rebalance. This is a nudge to tune back in to the new normal you find yourself in. It’s time to find your footing. Be grounded, feel secure, and accept things as they now are. Until you do this, you will feel off-kilter and unstable. These changes you’re experiencing have been unfolding for a long time. Now, you’re ready to accept the outcome, get comfortable in the new spot, and start to take back power and control. Let yourself settle down, find your feet, and then push on again.
