You’ve got fall: Movies and shows to stream this season

Get ready for all the fall feels.

With sweater weather swiftly approaching, it’s time to post up with a cup of tea, a fluffy blanket and a pumpkin-scented candle. All that’s missing is the perfect autumn-inspired watch list — but don’t worry, we’ve got you covered.

From traveling to Stars Hollow with Lorelai (Lauren Graham) and Rory (Alexis Bledel) Gilmore to fighting vampires and creatures of the night in Sunnydale with a beloved blonde teenager (Sarah Michelle Gellar), these shows and movies are sure to create the perfect cozy-season atmosphere.

Gilmore Girls

Set in a picturesque Connecticut town, this multigenerational drama follows Lorelai Gilmore running a beloved bed-and-breakfast with her best friend, Sookie, and navigating motherhood with her daughter, Rory.

And, of course, we can’t forget the hunks of the series, including Scott Patterson, Milo Ventimiglia and Jared Padalecki, as both mother and daughter have their respective love stories ever-unfolding along the way.

You’ve Got Mail

Picture this: The Big Apple in the fall. This perfect movie choice follows Kathleen Kelly (Meg Ryan) and Joe Fox (Tom Hanks) as they embark on an anonymous internet romance.

Sprinkle in books, the beginning of the digital age and Kathleen’s Little Shop Around the Corner, and it’s the ultimate New York City fall flick.

Friday Night Lights

‘Tis the season for football — and, come fall, we’re rooting for the Dillon Panthers. This high school drama has it all: love triangles, preppy athletes, bad boys, the voice of reason (thanks, Connie Britton) and the guiding light both on and off the field, Coach Eric Taylor ( Kyle Chandler). Intercept this small town for all the feels.

Practical Magic

Sisters Sally (Sandra Bullock) and Gillian Owens (Nicole Kidman) give themselves a crash course in hard magic in this 1998 classic.

Light some candles and get out your midnight margaritas for the spellbinding classic that showcases the perfect fall soundtrack, town and wardrobe that comes with these eccentric witches.

Everwood

This 2002 WB series set in Colorado follows the Brown family, brain surgeon Dr. Andy Brown (the late Treat Williams) and his kids Ephram (Gregory Smith) and Delia (Vivien Cardone), as they leave New York for the idyllic small town of Everwood.

To add to the charm, the character’s outfits are the ultimate autumn wardrobe with a variety of denim and plaid outfits.

When Harry Met Sally

Showing off Sally’s (Meg Ryan) iconic ‘80s wardrobe is reason enough for this 1989 rom-com to make the list. Add in the autumn backdrop and witty banter and you’ve got a hit. Plus, the dynamic between Harry (Billy Crystal) and Sally (Ryan) is one for the books. It shows that maybe, just maybe, someone who you didn’t click with at first can become your best friend and eventual lover … fake orgasms and all.

Charmed

The witches are back! Charmed, which ran from 1998 to 2006, is the perfect introduction to spooky season. The Halliwell sisters — Piper (Holly Marie Combs), Phoebe (Alyssa Milano), Prue (the late Shannen Doherty) and later Paige (Rose McGowan) — juggle sisterhood, their love lives and fighting evil. All while keeping their witchy ways a secret!

Buffy the Vampire Slayer

Buffy Summers (Sarah Michelle Gellar) is doing her best to keep Sunnydale safe from vampires, demons and other forces of darkness in the spookiest show leading up to Oct. 31. And, of course, the teenage slayer does it all while serving top-notch looks and navigating her love life with a 100-year-old vampire named Angel (David Boreanaz).

A fall staple! New England gives off the perfect fall vibes for the ‘ber months. Set in Connecticut, this 1988 film stars Julia Roberts as Daisy, Annabeth Gish as her sister Kat and Lili Taylor as her best friend Jojo in a coming-of-age story. The three girls bond over their work at a small-town pizza joint and the summer after high school is one they will never forget.
