Zorbaz makes NYT readers’ list of favorite pizza places around the world

DETROIT LAKES, Minn. — Nepal, Mexico, Rwanda, Lithuania … northern Minnesota: These are just a few places where you can grab a slice from some of the best pizza places around the world, according to the New York Times.

A story published by the newspaper last week named Zorbaz in Detroit Lakes as a reader-favorite, landing among 14 other pie shops from nearly every continent.

The submission from Conor Rayl of Las Vegas reads, “It’s the greatest Mexican-Italian pizza joint in the world. It is also right on the lake.” Rayl told the outlet his favorite menu item is the “Lowden Zpecial,” which comes with pepperoni, jalapenos and a tomato-peanut butter base.

Detroit Lakes is just one of the Minnesota pizza chain’s 11 locations. You can find the others in Alexandria, McGregor, Crosslake, Spicer, Lake Shore (Gull Lake), Perham, Battle Lake, Park Rapids, Grand Rapids and Pelican Rapids.
